- THE BAG(S)
- Lowepro's collection of camera bags and backpacks is amazing! They are extremely well-made, reliable and truly functional. For most my of my nature/landscape work, I use Lowepro's Pro Trekker Backpack. For travel/documentary photography, I use an assorted combination of bags and pouches from the Street and Field Modular System and their waist belts or the S&F Reporter 400 AW Shoulder Bag with light waistbelt.
-
- I won't use a backpack for travel photography except for possibly transporting it on the plane/train to my destination. Can't access it quickly enough for travel/candid photography. I won't use shoulder bags to trek in the mountains - very uncomfortable! What I put in my bags at any given time depends upon the nature of the assignment/journey. I try to travel light, yet complete, and some of the gear may be redundant for backup purposes when I travel abroad. I make sure I cover the focal range of my intended subjects/situations with the lenses I put in the bag, without any or too much overlap.
