Join me on this incredible journey to photograph the many activities of orcas. Johnstone Strait is renowned for its orcas. More orcas inhabit this region than exist in the rest of British Columbia and Southeast Alaska combined! This cruise spends time with resident orcas at two communities as well as the transient orcas in between. The setting is one of unbelievable beauty – deep green bays rimmed by forests and mountains, punctuated by the black and white of the orca whale, white-sided dolphins and more. The Delphinus
She's fully equiped for digital photography with two flat screens and extra power strips. Comfortable bunks in cabins and shared bath. Delicious meals & snacks and we're guided by a Captain with over 30 years experience in the Alaska and British Columbia waters.

Males typically ride along outside the all-female unit, but come in close to protect from any threats, which makes a great picture! We’ll look for the numerous summertime-resident Minke whales and expect to be intercepted by bow-riding Dall’s porpoises. Over the last few years, we’ve seen humpbacks in the Johnstone Strait area and Pacific white-sided dolphins by the hundreds.
We will visit bird rookeries and go ashore for easy hikes and beach combing. We will also make special visits to wonderful native museums and village sites. The art culture is very strong here.
Brenda is untiring in her enthusiasm to share the wonders of nature with everyone. She is always on hand to help you make the best pictures of any situation.

Meeting Place: Port McNeill, Vancouver Island, BC. Trip ends Friday Harbor, WA. Included in the price is all meals while on board, cabin/bed, shore excursions, guide services and photo guide services. Airfare to Port McNeil or from Friday Harbor is not included.
A valid passport is required for this trip. Brenda will give a presentation in the opening days, and there will be image reviews during the trip.
