Somewhere between the grand landscape and the macro scene, there is a world that invites a closer look. A world that shows the details that make up the larger landscape, and each of those details is a scene worthy of being considered as a photograph. Intimate landscapes suggest the larger scene that is just outside the frame. In honor of Eliot Porter, who defined this approach of getting closer, something I was doing since I was a teenager.
